Info su Maurizio Fiume

For forty years, Maurizio Fiume has done one thing: search for stories, and for the people able to tell them. More than 50 productions. A directorial debut backed by Eurimages and selected at Venice (Isotta, 1996). Head of development at one of Italy's most influential independent houses. Four companies founded (Riverfilm, Icarowebfilm, Riverstudio start up, Solefilm strat up innovativa). First features built from scratch for directors barely in their twenties. And an editorial line almost no one in Italy was pursuing, dystopia and elevated genre, now at the heart of international slates. Today he runs seven titles in parallel, from Stefano Incerti's Rettifilo to a documentary DINO, and keeps doing what he does best: reading a screenplay and knowing whether it will become a film; meeting an unknown writer and recognising the talent before anyone else. A member of the European Film Academy, after four decades he still has the curiosity of his first day. After all, back in 1990, in a classroom in Naples, among his screenwriting students there was a young man who wanted to make films. His name was Paolo Sorrentino. A year later, Maurizio Fiume produced his first short. The best stories are still to come.
